The Beachwalker Team
We have a professionally trained, friendly and exemplary year-round team. Our team is led by the mother/daughter owners of Gail Vandall and Alison Barker. Most of our team have been working for Beachwalker for 5-10 years with some being with us almost since our beginning over 30 years ago! We train our team through attending national and regional conferences put on by our technology provider, the Vacation Rental Management Association and the Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals organization. Every year members of our team attend at least three different conferences. We also participate in webinars and other online training to stay at the forefront of the vacation rental industry.
Beachwalker offers low commissions and a management program that does not nickel-and-dime homeowners. Our management program allows you to pay for only the services that you need, rather than monthly maintenance fees.
Beachwalker is always up-to-date on marketing trends. We advertise each property on our website as well as national and international listing sites such as HomeAway.com, VRBO.com, Vacationrentals.com and FlipKey.com. We also advertise in major publications to attract renters.
Beachwalker is active on social media, keeping your vacation property fresh in our followers’ minds. We consistently post fresh, relevant, and light-hearted content on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest. Reaching out to every guest, from Baby Boomer to Millennial, Beachwalker includes direct mail in our marketing campaigns.
We have grown our email marketing list organically to include tens of thousands of past customers and prospective guests. Beachwalker has targeted and timely email campaigns at key booking points throughout the year as well as feel-good messages to keep our guests’ memories of their Beachwalker vacation in the front of their minds.
We launched a new state-of-the-art website in July 2015. Our website is one of the most robust but user-friendly in the vacation rental industry. We continuously improve and update our site adding the latest technology and features available. We offer OwnerWeb, a secure, password-protected private site, where you can reserve your owner and owner guest reservations, view reservations and maintenance orders, and download owner statements.
Beachwalker also has a custom App that is available free for our guests. The Beachwalker App
includes information about our properties as well as events and things to do on the island. As the homeowner, you have the option of writing a custom welcome letter to your guests. With our Beachwalker App
, we are able to customize the details relating to your property, including helpful hints about how appliances work, that only guests staying at your property can see.
Housekeeping and Linens
Your property’s cleanliness makes the first impression with the renter and Beachwalker’s full time housekeeping and laundry department will ensure that your property looks top notch. We understand that "if the property isn’t clean, nothing else matters”. We never outsource our housekeeping or linens to third-party companies. We have an in-house linen service and laundry facility and supply all of the necessary linens for your property. Our facility is centrally-located on Johns Island and operates up to 24 hours a day in the busy summer season to ensure that all of our linens are cleaned professionally and ready for upcoming guests.
After each guest departure, we inspect every property for damages, security and cleanliness. Our inspectors and housekeepers are trained continuously to ensure the highest standards are met. Our housekeeping supervisors attend national and regional training to ensure we are up-to-date on industry trends. Beachwalker is a proud member of the Vacation Rental Housekeeping Professionals Association.
Our housekeeping fee includes the cost of the cleaning, all linens, guest bath amenities from Bath & Body Works and a starter supply kit including paper towels, toilet paper, sponges, laundry detergent, dish detergent, trash bags and other supplies for the convenience of your guests.
Our maintenance department is designed so that we can make routine repairs at an affordable cost to our owners. We offer a filter program to change your filters monthly. Our in-house staff does most small repairs, replacements, troubleshooting and responds to everyday questions and issues that renters have. We outsource larger repairs to licensed subcontractors such as plumbing, electrical and AC & Heating repairs after we trouble shoot internally to ensure that you are only charged for necessary repairs. Beachwalker works hard to keep your operating costs low, and we take our job of caring for your home in the wisest and most economical way seriously.
