Alison received her BS in Business Administration from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio with a double major in Accounting and Finance. Alison purchased Beachwalker in 2005 after a successful career as a CPA with Arthur Andersen and PricewaterhouseCooper. Alison grew up in the midwest and was a frequent vacationer to Kiawah Island since the late 70s.
Alison moved to the Charleston area in 2008 from Austin, TX. She has lived in the Charleston area since 2008 and splits her time between her homes in Mt. Pleasant and Kiawah. In her spare time, Alison enjoys spending time with her daughter and traveling. She has cruised on over 80,000 miles.
Director of Maintenance
The South Carolina shore has always been a 2nd home to Jyl. She moved to Charleston in 1994. Before joining the Beachwalker team in 2003, Jyl worked as a office manager. Jyl is the lead Property Manager for our Kiawah Island properties and acts as the primary contact for our owners regarding their properties. As Director of Maintenance, Jyl coordinates all maintenance issues reported by our guests and owners for all Beachwalker properties.
She lives with her husband on James Island and enjoys ballroom dancing, reading and relaxing at the beach.
Director of Reservations
Mary Beth has worked at Beachwalker for 8 years. She has a Master's Degree in Spanish from Middlebury College and is a retired Spanish teacher who taught that language in Vermont schools for 36 years. She is a Property Manager, the Director of Reservations and Guest Relations, staff and office supervisor and handles all snowbird and month long rentals. She escaped the cold New England winters in 2006 and now resides on Seabrook Island. In her free time she enjoys spending time with her family, Airedale Dudley and newest granddaughter Charlotte. She loves gardening, cooking, biking, quilting and the endless array of activities that these islands and the Charleston area offer those who live and visit this amazing part of the world.
Assistant Director of Reservations
Beth joined the Beachwalker family in 2012 after moving to Seabrook Island from Connecticut where she worked in Human Resources. She and her family have vacationed in the Charleston area for over 20 years before making the move here. She studied Communications at the University of Hartford. Beth enjoys cooking and singing and is a member of a volunteer choir at John Wesley UMC.
Director of Marketing & Communications
Emily married into the Vacation Rental industry and joined the Beachwalker family in 2010 following a marketing career that included collaborations with Orange County Choppers, DreamWorks Studios, and Hasbro Toys. Emily oversees Beachwalker's website, social media and custom app. She graduated first in her class, receiving a bachelor’s degree with honors from the University of Montevallo.
Emily volunteers her time with the Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA).
Property Manager in Charge
Gail and her husband Allan have called Kiawah home since 1978. After years of renting their island home through Beachwalker Rentals, they became full-time residents in 1997. After a successful real estate career, Gail began working with Beachwalker in Reservations.
Gail became the owner of Beachwalker along with her daughter Alison in 2005.
Gail calls Vanderhorst Plantation home, where she enjoys cooking, reading and spending time with her grandchildren, family and pets.
Lily Belle is a petite 10 pound Cavalier King Charles Spaniel and is the official mascot of Beachwalker Rentals. She joined the Beachwalker family in 2009 as a puppy. Lily Belle is active on social media and enjoys promoting "pet friendly" properties and encouraging our guests to bring their furry family members to the beach. You will often find Lily in the front window of our office or greeting guests as they stop by or check in. Her hobbies include walks on the beach, wagging her tail, being cuddled, greeting guests and snoring loudly during naps in the office.
